I have a Yamaha single lever binnacle mount control here that was old stock, brand new, but out of packaging and a bit average looking. You could have it for AU$50 plus freight, which might be a killer. I reckon I paid $600 for it 20 years ago, then life came along with a sledgehammer and it never was fitted to a boat. It is a Yamaha 704 model single motor control and takes 33C style cables. I think I still have the key switch panel also, but it will need one as these controls have power trim, but not engine starting, though it would need neutral start cabling installed from the key switch assembly.

No motor vehicle manufacture in Australia any more, the globalists got that one.

I appreciate your time and offer, but like you say,the postage would probably be more than the item.
I'm not strapped for cash, but my idea was to see if there was a simple conversion
I've kept the motor simple and light in weight.25hp is enough power, and is economical.
I only use it to sea fish.I did change the spark plugs for Iridium plugs.
I'm shocked to hear that GMH has gone.We had an FJ holden with a Jaguar engine in it.
Used it for Roo hunting around Whyalla,Iron Knob etc.
When they were testing the GM Hydrostic engine,I made the perspex oil tight case that they tested it in.
All perspex, even the hinges and nuts and bolts.
    I still miss Victoria Bitter.Haha.
If I could turn the clock back 40 yrs,I'd be back in Oz,this country wouldn't see my arse for dust.

Yes, the control was a wild offer, and you will probably be looking for a sidemount as this one goes in a helm station, bulkhead or similar. The FJ with a Jag engine sounds great, we used them for shooting too, as with the rear wheel drive and 15" high profile tyres they weren't far behind a Landrover until things got boggy. Not just Holden either my friend, Ford, Toyota and Mitsubishi also. Good luck with the job, happy to help with the tech side if you need a hand or ideas.

    Much appeciated.
At the back of GMH on Salmon st in Melbourne there used to be an old airstrip.
Some great hotrod days and sprint days on there.
The bigger the rear drive wheels diameter the faster the pickup, but a loss in topspeed.
We had an old Ford V8 and changed the gearbox to a truck gearbox that matched. The top speed was less, but the pickup left your innards behind.
I had a BSA 500cc twin at the time,in GMH we made twin Magaphone exhausts and jetted the carb up,and used a smaller back sprocket.
It added 20mph to it's top speed.Could only use it on the airstrip because of the noise.
