Hello and thank you in advance for any and all input.

I have a blue band Force 50hp outboard on my boat (i'm not sure the year or model of the motor because the label is missing) and we were on a lake know for exceptionally clean water. Ran the boat alot for 3 days and on day 3 while heading back in (20mph) I began to hear an alarm id never heard. Stopped acceleration and went to the stern to notice that the tell tale was no longer "peeing". Haven't pulled the lower unit yet but was just curious if y'all had any ideas. Also of anyone could tell me a year and model on the outboard that would be awesome.

    thanks.

    Welcome to the forums.
Generally when it is working and then just stops giving an overtemp alarm, it is one of two things; a) the impeller has totally failed, or b) something is blocking the cooling loop. Option B can be much harder to trace; a piece of the impeller has come loose and was ingested, sand, silt or debris ingestion, thermostat failed, etc. First options are to check the impeller and the thermostat. Not sure exactly how the Force works, but just checking with muffs may not cause the tell tale to flow if the thermostat is not open.

Thanks! I'll try diagnosing those and let you know what I find out!
