What a complex and fussy system. A leaking prv would explain the overcooling seen, and trash before the thermostats the rest of it. She is really only at the right temp in the range where water flow would have the prv wide open anyway.

So there is a diagnostic process. The 38mm socket has arrived. I suspect the thermostat caps won't survive removal, so I will get a replacement pair before taking them off. Replacement clamps for the small lines that cool the computer as well. Replacement prv too.

Actually the leaking PRV explains everything. Overcooling at low rpm, followed by a vapourlock and then overheating. Goose it, and that blows out the air/vapour. Followed by overcooling until there's another vapourlock.

The PRV is a nothing part. Until it's everything. So long as there is no damage to the powerhead (which remains to be seen), an easy repair, that comes with some more learning.
