The original 8' build differs from the 6' only in having a 2' extension to the upper and lower spars beside hydroski, (weighing 16lb motored as per 13lb). Addition of the motors appears to have counterbalanced the extra buoyancy stemming from the rearward extension of the skis, providing for level trim unladen and a draft similar to previous test at 4" to 5". With a datum at forward edge of the centre-deck, addition of a 5kg weight at 16" sustains a level trim whilst increasing the draft to just under 8". Such a weight would accommodate a pair of 22,000mAh battery-packs that should provide over five times the original endurance of five minutes, at a cost of higher gross weight.
